Mission and Core Values

We build more than campfires

Camp Fire USA leads youth to th path of achievement by helping adults and children become reconnected! Since 1910, Camp Fire has been offering innovative programming to meet the needs of our nation's youth. As a nation, not-for-profit organization, Camp Fire teaches children life skills, which will assit them in becoming responsible citizens concerned about and active in their communities. These ife learning skills are acquired through various year-round activities that encourage environmental awareness, lasting friendships and fun.

Mission Statement
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Camp Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future leaders.

Vision
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Camp Fire USA is a national youth development organization with a focus on stewardship. What sets us apart is our emphasis on social responsibility and the environment. Our programs are based on experiential learning; kids learn from direct involvement in hands-on activities to become better stewards of their communities, their world and themselves. The goal is for them to take responsibility for their personal environment, and overall environment. We want to reach as many young people as possible, so we are all-inclusive and co-ed; we don’t turn anyone away on the basis of background or beliefs.

Core Values
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We believe that children and youth are our most precious resources.
We believe in an approach to youth development that builds assets and empowers individuals.
We believe that the best youth development occurs in small groups where children and youth are actively involved in creating their own learning.
We are committed to coeducation, providing opportunities for boys, girls and families to develop together.
We provide caring, trained mentors to work with children and youth.
We are inclusive, welcoming children, youth, and adults regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation or other aspect of diversity.

We foster leadership, engaging children and youth to give service and make decisions in a democratic society.
We provide safe, fun, and nurturing environments for children and youth.
We enrich parents' and other adults' lives by expanding their skills and encouraging them to share their talents and build relationships with children and youth.
We respond to community needs with our programs and expertise.
